  • Job title: Theatre Nurse (RN / EN / ENA) 

  • Vacancy type: Flexible agency shifts 

  • Location: Johannesburg CBD, Sandton, Randburg, Roodepoort, Soweto, Midrand, Pretoria / Tshwane, Centurion, Ekurhuleni (Benoni, Boksburg, Kempton Park, Springs, Alberton), Vaal Triangle (Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark) and other areas across Gauteng  

  • Pay rate: Find Out What Your Theatre Experience Could Earn 

Theatre Nurse Roles Available in Gauteng 

  • Anaesthetic nurse: induction, airway assistance, monitoring and drug checks alongside the anaesthetist 

  • CSSD / sterile services: decontamination, packing, autoclave and tray assembly 

  • Day surgery, endoscopy & cath lab: shorter lists, predictable hours, often a better fit around family commitments 

  • Floor / circulating nurse: keeps the theatre running: counts, stock, positioning, specimens and runner work 

  • Recovery / PACU nurse: post-anaesthetic care, observations, pain management and safe handover to the ward 

  • Scrub nurse: instrument and sterile field work across general, ortho, cardiothoracic, neuro, gynae, urology, ENT, ophthalmic, maxillofacial, plastics and robotic lists 

  • Theatre unit managers & shift leaders: list coordination, staffing and stock control for units short on senior cover

What You'll Need 

Essential requirements 

  • Current SANC registration 

  • Relevant nursing qualification (RN, EN or ENA) 

  • Experience in a theatre role: scrub, floor/circulating, anaesthetic, recovery/PACU, CSSD, or theatre unit management 

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts
