We are seeking a reliable and experienced Night Supervisor to oversee hospital operations during the night shift. In this key role, you will be fully accountable for ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and all stakeholders. You will manage all operational activities in the absence of other managers, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for the mentoring, training, and development of night shift staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Manage hospital operations at night, ensuring policies and safety standards are met. 

  • Staff Supervision: Lead and support night staff to ensure high-quality care and adherence to standards. 

  • Patient Monitoring: Assess patient needs, resource requirements, and plan staffing for the next day. 

  • Quality Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to enhance care and service. 

  • Ward Rounds & Audits: Conduct rounds to monitor equipment, patient safety, and compliance. 

  • After-Hour Admissions: Coordinate admissions and ensure smooth handover to the morning shift. 

  • Medication & Stock Management: Manage medication distribution and stock levels. 

  • Infection Prevention: Ensure infection control measures and standard precautions are followed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Nursing degree or diploma. 

  • Current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration. 

  • Any management or relevant business education. 

  • Updated ACLS, PALS, ATLS, or BLS certification. 

  • 5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience. 

  • Experience in a private hospital environment (preferred). 

  • Computer literate with proficiency in relevant healthcare systems.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions during night shifts. 

  • Attention to Detail: Vigilant in monitoring patient care, staff performance, and safety protocols. 

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for coordinating with staff, patients, and other departments. 

  • Quality & Compliance: Focused on quality improvement and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
